Your hosting service will also include a full control panel. Here are the features you’ll see inside your cpanel.
Softaculous Apps Installer – Here you can easily click to install software or scripts on your website. No programming knowledge is needed. The most common install is WordPress. Depending on what your website strategy is, you may find it advantageous to add a shopping cart or a forum. There are lots of options available.
Files Area – In the Files area, you can quickly make changes to your files on the server. If you need to add or delete something, this is the area. In this area, you can also review your disk usage and setup additional FTP accounts as well. Most customers use software (like WordPress) to manage their websites, however, if you need to dig deeper this is the spot.
Email Management – In this section, you’ll manage your email address. You can setup as many emails as you would like. You’ll also have access to some other popular tools like setting up email Forwarders or Autoresponders. You can also access any of your emails via the Internet directly.
Database Management – If you’re an advanced user, you may need access to your phpMyAdmin or MySQL Databases. If you’re in this section, you’re beyond the basics. It is available if you need it, however.
Domain Management – In this section, you can setup Subdomains or URL redirects. It’s not a popular section but if you need to add those features to your website – this is the section.
Security Tools – There are several popular tools in this section. You’ll want to utilize the SSL/TLS tool to setup your SSL certificate. This is not included in our hosting service but we can help you set that up. An SSL certificate is highly recommended by Google so you’ll want to get one of those. We recommend getting your SSL from Namecheap. You can also use a free SSL from ZeroSSL.com. The IP Blocker tool is in this section as well.
Traffic Metrics – In this section, you can review your website traffic, bandwidth, and resource usage. In addition, we recommend setting up Google Analytics on your website. If you need help with that, just let us know.
Support – Unlike other hosting providers, we take a personal approach to make sure you’re all setup and running smoothly. We can provide free guidance as it relates to your website launch, Google indexing (so you show up on Google.com), and best practices as you continue to grow. This is optional, of course, but we are here to help at no additional cost.
